Taking the next step can be difficult. We tend to get into a rut so easily, and we miss the opportunity. Taking The Next Step is a weekly reminder to take action. Be deliberate about your manhood, and you relationships with your wife and kids. What do you need to do to become more of the man, the husband, the father that you were created to be?

Here is this week’s edition of Take The Next Step!

Take The Next Step!

Walt Disney once said, “A man should never neglect his family for business.” He was a smart guy!

All too often, we work ourselves to pieces and sacrifice our family in the process. I know I have been guilty of this from time to time, and probably more often than I’d like to admit. The problem is, I could work until 5:00 or 6:00 and not get everything done, or until 8:00 or 9:00 and still not get everything done. So I might as well leave it undone earlier rather than later.

My goal this week is to leave work on time, and spend time at home in the evenings. My goal this week is to make sure I take my day off. My goal this week is to be present with my family as much as I can.

Maybe you should too.

From Around The Web

Are You a Workaholic? – How much do you focus on work? Do you spend too much time and effort on that segment of your life? Here’s a great article about it from WedMD.

How To Leave It All Behind You At The End Of The Day – I’m not a great fan of lifehacks (I used to be intrigued by the concept), but this article has some great insight into leaving work at work and going home to enjoy your family and your downtime.

The Rhythm Of Life – Although this seems to have a new title, and has been revised, it is an excellent book that describes the balance we must have between work, rest, worship and play. It’s well worth reading. I suggest you grab a copy.
